For the horde!

[edit] A Time For War (Introduction)

"The enemy is all around us, and we must ensure at all times that our brethren are aware."

So reads the first line of the Harbingers' charter, passed hastily into the hands of an unwitting recruit. It's not a long document (perhaps partially due to all the very, very fine print), but it speaks volumes of its writers' purpose: to alert the horde of incoming danger, no matter the trials that stand in the way.

The Harbingers of War is an unofficial extension of Thrall's army, created in a fit of passion by a handful of rag-tag soldiers who thought the alliance was getting too much attention. Enemies surround the horde at all times - kolkar, silithid, the scourge - yet not always does it seem that the military focuses enough on anything other than the Stormwind battle standard. Though the alliance is a known threat, it is most certainly not the only one. More dire enemies certainly wait, unearthed and unseen as the war above rages on.

For that reason, the Harbingers were brought into existence ("whether Thrall likes it or not!"). They are a gruff band of soldiers that strive to keep the horde on its toes at all times, regardless of what hour of day, night, or morning it happens to be.

As the phrase goes,

For the horde!

[edit] About the Harbingers

Bugs are not our friends!

[edit] The Enemy

Though the Harbingers are perhaps best known for their interests in the silithid, they also fight the alliance and any other enemies to the horde. Whenever a new threat appears, they are always nearby, either charging into the fray (with a 90% chance of being intoxicated) or standing back and studying the enemy.

As the focus shifts and all eyes look to Northrend, the Harbingers of War are there, fighting alongside their fellow Horde and keeping their eyes open for the inevitable - signs of the final conflict against the Scourge.

[edit] On the Battlefield (PvP/PvE)

As an extension of the military, the Harbingers participate in both pushing back the alliance and exploring possible threats. This includes delving into everything from the Wailing Caverns to Utgarde Pinnacle and beyond - sometimes with aid from their allies.

Not a friend!

[edit] OOC Information

The Harbingers of War actually is not a raiding guild, though they do participate in instances and the battlegrounds. Their focus is, first and foremost, RP. The guild is part of a raiding alliance, however, and participation within this alliance is optional - but also open to individuals that are RPers.

HRV Alliance

When it comes to the actual players, the Harbingers consists of a number of light-hearted people who often entertain these few past-times:

1. Cracking jokes.
2. Making fun of each other.
3. Talking about how enormous the ________ (fill in the blank with your choice!) sword is.

The Harbingers pride themselves on being a very OOC-drama-free zone and, as a result, do not tolerate OOC drama in any form. They really like folks to be as cool as cucumbers, just like them, and to understand that IC =/= OOC.
