Melthian, or Mand, as people know him, carries himself with a constant sense of smugness that's been known to put people on edge with him. He is constantly smirking and chuckling at those around him. He is almost always polite, acting as if he were of noble heritage.
History[]
Melthian was born from a house long since brought to ruin. His ancestors and more recent relatives scattered and lost to time and rumor. Ages ago, one of twin Highborne sisters that had remained behind to embrace druidism with the night elves, desired to gain the power of the World Tree for herself and her family. She went into exile after repeated efforts to tap into the Tree's energies. She fled after her kin to the Easter lands, where she influenced the creation of her own Noble House in High Elven society.
Time passed, and her offspring grew with the belief they were the heirs to an ancient power denied them by their cousins across the sea. During the ages between the creation and fall of the House Lerathien, those of the house who remembered the stories devised a plan to gain more power and influence among their fellow Houses.
The plan backfired, and set House Lerathien in a downward spiral, ending with the death of more than half of their bloodline. The rest were placed under a curse that did not die with those who crafted it. The curse made it nearly impossible for House Lerathien to rise again, forcing those that are born to the bloodline into secrecy, or servitude by other elves of Noble heritage.
Recent Events:[]
Mand, as he goes by in public, was taken in by House Sunfury, a small political branch of the more well known Sunfury line. He holds a stable position in the House as a Noble, though he tends to remain out of the city most of his time, seeking other sources of magic and power to draw on.
